DINING ROOM & KITCHEN REFURBISHMENT

Work will commence on Wednesday 15th January, on the refurbishing of the above areas and it is anticipated that it will take 3 weeks to complete. A skeleton catering service will be available during this period.

MENS’ SHOWER ROOM & TOILETS REFURBISHMENT

Work will now commence on Monday 27th January on the refurbishing of the above areas. It is anticipated that it will take 4 weeks to complete.

WINTER SPECIAL OFFER
Every Wednesday and a Friday until 27th March 2020, come and play a round of golf and enjoy a coffee and bacon sandwich or a pint for only £13! To make your reservation call the club on 0191 285 3495 opt 2.
Ts and Cs apply.

Please note that from Wednesday 15th January 2020, cold sandwiches will be available instead of bacon rolls for the duration of the kitchen refurbishment.

LOCAL RULES 2019/20

From Wednesday 1st January 2020 through to 29th February Play from the fairway must be from a fairway mat. These are available from the shop for £5.00. Alternatively, place your ball in the rough.

This local rule is mandatory and we request that any member observing others not adhearing to this to politely inform them of the rule.

And finally, please always look for and repair pitch marks on the greens no matter how short a shot has been played.


“IN THE GENERAL AREA – all cut areas”

When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area the player may take free relief:

• Reference point: Mark the ball. Lift and clean the ball:
• Size of relief Area Measured from Reference point: 6 inches from the reference point, but with these limits:
• Limits on Location of Relief Area:

Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
Must be in the general area.

In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rule 14.2e

Rule extract:-

14.2(e) Penalty for Playing from a Wrong Place in Breach of Rule 14.2: General Penalty (loss
of hole in match play or 2 penalty strokes in stroke play).

PLAY FROM BUNKERS

If a ball comes to rest in a bunker, the following will apply without penalty.

(a) A ball may be lifted and cleaned.
(b) Sand may be raked from where the ball was lifted from.
(c) Ball is then placed in the bunker, as close to where it originally lay, not nearer the hole.
(d) After playing your shot, rake the bunker.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

(a) Roped off areas are there for traffic management.
(b) Players must play from tee mats when provided except when there is a ground frost and it is not possible to obtain a secure footing on the mat.
(c) “Stand alone temporary greens” and “permanent greens” are classified as ‘Ground under repair-No Play Zones’ when not in use.
